Electrical elements

Electrical circuit elements

Those elements which are uses in electrical circuit to provide the electrical energy, transfer the electrical energy, Consume th electrical energy and control the electrical energy, called electrical circuit elements. Or in other words can also define the following.

Electrical elements A part of an electrical network is called an electrical elements. Same examples of electrical elements shown in below image.

Electrical circuit elements

Examples - Resistor, capacitor, Inductor, voltage source, Diode, Transistor, IGBT, MOSFET, etc

Electrical Network

Electrical network is defined as the any combination of electrical elements is called electrical network.

Electrical circuit

A closed energized electrical network is called electrical circuit.

Note - A circuit can must be a network but network can not be a circuit.

Classification of electrical elements

Active and passive elements

Active elements

The electrical or electronic elements which can be deliver the electrical energy to the circuit is called active elements.

Examples - voltage source, current source, Battery etc.

Passive element

Those electrical or electronic elements which can not be deliver any electrical energy to the circuit are called passive elements.

Examples - Resistor, Capacitor, Inductor,Transistor MOSFET IGBT etc.

Linear & Non linear elements

Linear elements

Those elements which involve a constant coefficient in the relation between voltage and current

Ex - Resistor, Inductor and capacitor etc.

Non linear elements

Those electrical elements which do not involve content coefficient in relation between voltage and current

Ex- diode, Transistor, MOSFET, and IGBT

Unilateral and Bilateral elements

Bilateral elements

A Bilateral elements is one whose properties or characteristics does not change due to change in direction of electrical Current. Like as the Resistor, Inductor etc.

Unilateral element

A Unilateral element is whose properties or characteristics change due to change in direction of the current.

Examples - Diode, Transistor, and MOSFET etc.

What is Node ?

A node is a junction point in a electrical network or electrical circuit where two or more network elements are connected together.

Note - In any electrical network or electrical circuit if there is no elements are connected between two or more node, these node can be considered as a single node

What is Loop ?

A loop is a closed path in a Network in which
