CONNECTION OF THE MOTOR
There are two types of connections use in motor
- Star connection
- Delta connection
1) STAR CONNECTION ፦
In star connection the motor winding are connected as the all three motor winding coil have only one phase, That means all three phase are connected to each other at a common point. This common point is use to neutral point, Due to this common point, connection is called star or Y connection.
In star connection the phase voltage Vᴘ have 220 or 240 volts and line voltage Vւ have 415 or 440 volts.

The three phase motor have three coil in motor winding
1) U1 - U2
2) V1 - V2
3) W1 - W2
In star connection one ends(U2, V2 and W2)of each coil are shorted as a neutral point and other one ends (U1, V2 and W1) of each coil is connected with three phase supply L1, L2 and L3.
this type of connections know as star connection.
Phase voltage─ The potential difference between the phase and neutral is known as the phase voltag
Line voltage─ The potential difference between two phases (phase to phase) is known as the line voltage
2)DELTA CONNECTION ፦
In delta connection, The motor winding are connected as the each winding coil have two phase. There are no neutral or common point. Line voltage Vւ is equal to the phase voltage Vᴘ in delta connection.

In delta connection the motor coil connected as end to end of the coil to each other the one end of the coil are connected to three phase supply.
